We have partnered with the UBC Sauder School of Business in delivering Lean Six Sigma training for leaders and professionals at UBC. Whether you are just getting started in your Lean Six Sigma journey or looking to become a certified practitioner, these courses we offer will equip you with the tools and knowledge to drive stronger performance at UBC.

Please Note: Starting July 15, 2021, White Belt training will be available for everyone in the VPFO. In the coming week, VPFO employees will receive an exclusive registration link to the Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification course. Ask your supervisor for more information.

Lean Six Sigma White Belt

The starting place, and a mandatory step for all Operational Excellence project participants. This online, self-paced course provides a foundation of Lean Six Sigma and equips participants with the skills to assist with change management and participate in local problem-solving project teams.

Prerequisite: N/A
Time commitment: 90 minutes
Sessions: Available as of July 15, 2021

Sponsor Leadership Workshop

This online 3-hour workshop is designed for Operational Directors and Department Heads involved in process management support and project sponsorship.

Prerequisite: Lean Six Sigma White Belt
Time commitment: 3 hours

Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt

This interactive 2-day workshop is designed for managers and team members who lead small projects.

Prerequisite: Lean Six Sigma White Belt
Time commitment: 2 days + 30 hours of coursework

  • August 20 & 23, 2021
  • October 1 & 4, 2021
  • December 3 & 6, 2021
  • February 25 & 28, 2022
  • April 1 & 4, 2022
  • June 24 & 27, 2022

Coursework:
  • Certification exam
  • Prior to the start of the course, participants will choose a continuous improvement project at work as their assignment, which will be due 3 weeks within completing the course. The project needs to be approved by your manager, with trackable benefits realization measures.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

This interactive 5-day workshop is designed for managers and team members who lead small projects.

Prerequisite: Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt
Time commitment: 5 days + 45 hours of coursework

  • January 24-28, 2022
  • March 7-11, 2022
  • May 9-13, 2022
  • September 12-16, 2022
  • November 14-18, 2022

Coursework:
  • Certification exam
  • Prior to the start of the course, participants will choose a continuous improvement project at work as their assignment, which will be due 6 weeks within completing the course. The project needs to be approved by your manager, with trackable benefits realization measures.
