September 2022: Quarterly update on UBC’s progress with Lean Six Sigma Training

Operational Excellence partners with UBC’s Sauder School of Business to deliver Lean Six Sigma training for beginners, seasoned professionals, and leaders at UBC.

As of September 2022, a total of 704 certifications have been issued through the program and many Lean Six Sigma practitioners are currently delivering continuous improvement projects across UBC.

All Lean Six Sigma sessions were on hold during summer. There are two remaining cohorts of Yellow Belt training in October and December and one cohort of Green Belt cohort in October. Next year’s sessions will be published on the training page when they are available.

View your faculty or unit’s progress with Lean Six Sigma completion in the table below (updated as of September 26, 2022). If you’d like a detailed breakdown of participants in your unit, please contact the Operational Excellence group.

Please note:

  • Participants are grouped based on their latest supervisory organization hierarchy in Workday.
  • “Total Certified Resources Currently at UBC” reflects the total number of people trained who are still working at UBC, have completed their certification project and report, and are available to deliver additional continuous improvement projects in their units.
  • “Not Certified” includes people who decide not to complete their Yellow or Green Belt certification program by submitting a report about a continuous improvement project.
  • “Left UBC” includes people who have left UBC and are no longer available to deliver continuous improvement projects.
  • “Grand Total Trained by the Program” includes people who have left UBC or decided not to complete their Yellow or Green Belt certification.
  • “Distinct Count of Employees” is lower than “Total # of Certifications Issue”, as some employees might have attended more than one session (e.g. White, Sponsor, Yellow, or Green Belt).
