On August 9, 2022, Operational Excellence held the first Continuous Improvement Community of Practice (CoP) event, in which Karamjeet Heer, Interim Vice-President, Finance, spoke to 40 CoP attendees about driving long-term benefits for the university through a continuous improvement culture. In the event, we also adopted our formal Charter, which includes our mission, values, and priorities going forward.
Open to all Lean Six Sigma Yellow, Green, and Black Belt practitioners at UBC, the second CoP event will be held online on Thursday, December 1, 2022. The agenda includes:
- Review of a Lean Six Sigma Tool: 5S Interactive Game – How organized are your thoughts?
- Breakout sessions: What are some of the Business Processes in your areas that would require review/improvements?
- Sean Zheng, who was recently promoted to Sub-Head in Stores, Municipal Services within UBC Facilities, will share how advancing his knowledge in Continuous Improvement helped advance his career.
Lean Six Sigma practitioners will receive a meeting invitation from David Pepin, Operational Excellence Knowledge Transfer Manager in the coming weeks.
